TO TANGUEROS ALL OVER THE WORLD!
We would to like to perform at your Argentine Tango (AT) Dance "Milongas". We could just come for your event(s) but because of the cost of traveling expenses we suggest the following:
We invite your group to arrange for AT culturally-enriching educational-presentation(s) and/or concert(s) at a college and/or university in your area. You give us the contact(s), we will do the rest.
We could also use local musicians to further reduce cost. To learn more about our educational programs please contact us.
Tangueros Comments
"I heard Dan play in Denver, and he's terrific. Dan's mastery of the bandoneon is assured, experienced and soulful. Wow, it was like finding an oasis in a desert!"
"Diaz plays the bandoneon extremely well and knowledgeably because he has played since he was a child. Coupled with his expertise is strong feeling and passion for the music and the effect it has on people and, in particular, dancers. The crowd of dancers and listeners that night literally roared their approval!"
"Dan Diaz plays a MEAN and lean bandoneon!! ... Dan is a true master
of his instrument and evokes, invokes and
interprets emotions and passions in his music. He plays with
great zest and skill and, in particular, heartfelt
recognition and sympatico for the musical subject. As a result,
dancers just LOVE his playing, which is directed to
their souls...
"Dan Diaz, Bandoneonist Extraordinaire... His playing has the perfect
feel for dancers. He is dancing with his finger tips. The tempo,
dynamics, mood are all tailored for what is happening in the moment".
"... I visited Denver for the Dan Diaz and company weekend.
We had a great time! The music was wonderful - both from a
musical and a dance perspective."
"We have the privilege of dancing to live music about once a month
to the strains of bandoneonist in-residence, Daniel Diaz and his camerati.
His praises have been sung many times on this list, and are well deserved.
He plays with the fingers of a musician and the soul of a dancer... I encourage
anyone who has the opportunity to hear Daniel play, to do so...
Last weekend Dan invited Duo Lorca from Kansas City along with a
local Bassist Robin Ruscio, Pianist Lia Davis and African Drummer Django
Maura to join with him to form a tango Sextet. The music was absolutely
terrific, even for milongueros more used to the 1940s DJ selections...
When it is really working, live music is a dialogue between the dancers
and the musicians; This is the energy that Dan Diaz seeks, and what he
means when he says: "We don't play live music, we play music that comes
alive in your heart."
